CME Self-Study Best Practices

SELF-STUDY IS ALL ABOUT DEMONSTRATING YOUR BEST PRACTICES. No matter what level of compliance, each client has practices that are unique, and Passin Associates’ job is to find those practices and position them in their best light.

Passin Associates encourages its clients to start the process for re-accreditation early— perhaps two years out. In this way, an audit of compliance levels can be performed by the Passin Associates team and areas requiring improvement identified early and rectified. Whether or not an early start is possible, the Passin Associates team facilitates the client - taking stock of its best practices, starting new best practices that will pay-off in the self-study, and then helping the client to ‘sing their praises’ in their written narratives and in performance-in-practice materials.

Self-study reports supported by Passin Associates are always praised by accreditation surveyors and are often equated to historic novels—because they so effectively tell the client’s story. This is the story of who you are, what you do, how you do it, what makes you special, and why you deserve to be recognized at the highest levels among your peers.

With over 140 clients, Passin Associates is able to leverage its client base to forge mission-critical collaborations that range from mergers and acquisitions, to project-based partnerships, to joint sponsorships for initial accreditation applicants, and long term relationships between academic institutions and highly-qualified medical education companies in which there is a quid pro quo on both sides of the relationship.

These collaborations often form the basis for demonstrating compliance with ACCME Criterion 20, and frequently result in the design of complex and effective educational programs that leverage point-of-delivery clinical opportunities, are multimodal in design, and address national and regional quality and patient safety issues. Many times these collaborative activities are able to attract significant funding from commercial supporters.
